Galvanised steel piling hook for canal narrowboats. Used to hook onto bankside piling. Your mooring ropes can then be passed through the eye ring. Very useful when the ground behind the piling is unsuitable for mooring pins (i.e. concrete) and doesn't have any mooring rings available.
