We first floated the idea (excuse the canal based pun) of offering a mailbox address service via our survey. We got lots of positive feedback and comments and so we decided to go ahead and provide a mailbox service. Many people said it would be extremely useful for them and make life easier.
Having first launched the service in January 2021. We are now ready to offer more mailboxes, at a charge of £12.50 per calendar month (see below for other charges). This will give you a postal address at The Boatyard for delivery of mail items up to the size that can be placed into, and stored in your mailbox. Each mailbox is 360 x 270 x 100mm.
Registered mailbox users will also be able to take delivery of larger items with a small daily 'holding' charge.
We hope to expand the service in due course and offer more useful features like text and email new mail notifications, post-by-boat, outgoing letter and parcel drop-off and more.
You are able to have up to 2 registered addressees per mailbox, with a key provided to each registered addressee. Mail received at your mailbox addressed to persons not registered will be returned as 'Not Known at this Adddress'.
Access to your mailbox will be available during normal shop hours Monday to Sunday. The initial agreement minimum term is 3 months, then it will become a rolling month.
